MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA)
ITVerticals is seeking a skilled MongoDB Database Administrator with expertise in database management, optimization, and performance enhancement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable MongoDB solutions, managing database clusters, and ensuring optimal system performance. This role requires advanced proficiency in database sharding, cluster management, query optimization, performance tuning, and data cleanup to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and integrity of our database systems.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain MongoDB databases and clusters to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Configure and manage replica sets and sharded clusters to support distributed database systems.
- Monitor cluster health and performance, including nodes, shards, and replication lag.
- Perform query optimization and database performance tuning to improve overall system efficiency.
- Conduct regular database cleanup to remove redundant, obsolete, or unnecessary data, ensuring database integrity and improved performance.
- Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database schemas and queries for new and existing applications.
- Monitor database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
- Conduct database health checks, analyze query execution plans, and implement improvements.
- Implement robust backup and recovery solutions, ensuring cluster data security and integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cluster issues, including node failures and replication inconsistencies.
- Stay updated with the latest MongoDB features and implement best practices for cluster architecture and management.
- Work closely with DevOps and application teams to implement database changes and optimizations.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in MongoDB database and cluster design, implementation, and administration.
- Hands-on experience with database sharding, replica sets, and cluster configurations.
- Proficiency in database optimization, including query and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of database cleanup practices and tools for managing redundant data.
- Expertise in indexing strategies, cluster scaling, and their impact on performance.
- Strong experience in database backup, restoration, and replication techniques.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve cluster and database performance issues.
Additional Skills
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as MongoDB Compass, Studio 3T, or others for cluster management.
- Experience with cloud-based MongoDB solutions
- Understanding of security best practices for database and cluster management.
Educational Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of professional experience in MongoDB database and cluster administration, optimization, and cleanup practices.
